Experience:

Douglas William Shoop, AIA, has more than twenty years of professional experience in the private and public sector. Beginning with his background in construction, followed by his architectural education and subsequent experience in the architectural profession ranging from residential and commercial design through his hands on experience in facilities and property management Mr. Shoop has touched all bases. His projects range in scope from residential design, corporate offices, manufacturing facilities planning, restaurants, environmental facilities planning, recreational, property management, facilities management, ADA and zoning ordinance consulting. A considerable amount his work has involved solving complex problems by interfacing with local zoning and building officials as well as local political groups to serve his clients design needs.

Prior to establishing DSA Architects, Mr. Shoop worked for architectural firms in Cambridge, MA, Cincinnati, OH, Indianapolis, IN, and Massillon, OH. He also served as a construction foreman with a local contractor in Canton, OH. With respect to public projects, Mr. Shoop has recently collaborated with David Williams McKee on several projects for the Reading Municipal Light Department. He has also provided services for the several Boston development and management firms, assisted the Medford Public Library in executing its HVAC renovations, and directed UMASS Boston in its facilities planning of a new environmental technology center.
